New Orleans vocalist, guitarist & song writer Freddie Blue formed the Friendship Circle Band in 2014. The band has blended their experience and multi-genre influences creating a sound we call acoustasonic roots sung from the heart. You will a wide range of grooves roots, rock, country, reggae, and Americana. Original material and our interpretations of songs penned by an array of songsmiths. Our lead instruments are electric violin and harmonica served up in a New Orleans brass band approach. We put on an engaging live show loaded with good humor and solidly arranged music with just the right amount of improvisational space. We love to play and give our audiences our all every show.
Freddie Blue is a New Orleans baritone vocalist and rhythm guitarist who has been in the music industry for over 43 years. His diverse career has had him touring with the world’s biggest rock bands in a wide range of support and management roles. Freddie Blue formed the Friendship Circle Band in 2014 and they enjoy at monthly residency at Buffa’s New Orleans. The band features Sam Colgate on drums, John Herbert on harmonica & vocals, Bob Netcoh on Bass, and Johnny Vajner on electric viol & vocals. FBFC blended their experience and multi-genre influences creating a sound we call acoustasonic roots sung from the heart. The band pulled from repertoire of over 80 songs, original material and interpretations of songs penned by an array of songsmiths. Our lead instruments are electric violin, harmonica (and guitar in 6pc configuration) served up in a New Orleans brass band approach. We put on an engaging live show loaded with good humor and solidly arranged music, with just the right amount of improvisational space. We love to play and give our audiences our all at every show. The band takes pride in conducting themselves in a professional manner, giving their all every night. We are available to play festivals, club and private parties in Louisiana, Florida, Mississippi, Alabama and beyond.
